IBC totes in
Corpus Christi.

Corpus Christi combines a heavy industrial base — refining, petrochemical and port operations — with a substantial agricultural hinterland running toward the Coastal Bend cotton and sorghum country.

The short answer

The Coastal Bend runs on a biweekly consolidated schedule, with dedicated loads for orders or buy-backs above about twenty-five units. Refinery, port and agricultural demand all overlap here.

The industrial side is a strong buy-back source. Refinery contractors and chemical distributors accumulate empties quickly, and there is limited local reconditioning capacity, so units that would otherwise be landfilled come back to Austin on our return legs.

Salt air is a genuine spec consideration here. Galvanized cage coating degrades faster in coastal service, so we recommend either galvanized-plus-coated cages or planning on a shorter cage service life.

Corpus Christi questions

+How does salt air affect a used tote?
It attacks the cage, not the bottle. Expect visible cage corrosion within a couple of years of outdoor coastal service. The HDPE bottle is unaffected, which is exactly why rebottling and cage replacement are separable operations.
+Is a biweekly schedule workable for urgent needs?
For urgent orders we will quote a dedicated hotshot. It costs more per unit, but it moves the same day in most cases.

+What do your grades mean?
N is new, R is rebottled, F is documented food grade, A is clean and presentable, B is sound with visible history, C is structurally sound but cosmetically rough, and X is material recovery only. Full definitions are on the grades page and they are applied by the person who washed the unit.
+What is your minimum order?
None for yard pickup. For delivery, small orders ride our consolidated routes with a modest freight line, and above about four totes it's usually absorbed into the unit price.
+Can I clean a tote myself?
For non-critical uses, yes — a proper three-stage rinse with agitation and full drain between stages does a lot. For food service, no: you need documented parameters and a caustic clean-in-place, which is what our W4 standard is for.
+Do you ship outside Texas?
Occasionally into Louisiana, Oklahoma and New Mexico on volume orders. Further than that, a yard closer to you usually beats us on freight and we'll say so.
+How often does an IBC need retesting?
Leakproofness testing every 2.5 years and full requalification every 5 years under 49 CFR 180.352. The test date must be marked on the container.
